Self-hosted · your server, your data
Notes, plans, people and money, kept on a server you own.
løfte is a workspace for one household. Write in a block editor, plan a trip day by day, share a budget, keep the calendar in step with Google or Outlook, and never miss a birthday or a name day again. One app, one database, nothing sent anywhere else.
What lives in it
Ten sections that usually mean ten apps, and four copies of the same weekend. Here a note about a trip, its day-by-day plan, the event in the calendar and what it cost are one set of records.
Notes
A block editor with folders, tags, wiki-links, backlinks and a graph of how everything connects.
Ideas
A board that moves from inbox to done, for the things that are not tasks yet.
Tasks
Due dates, reminders and subtasks, kept in step with Google Tasks if you connect it.
Calendar
Month, week and day views, a CalDAV server, .ics feeds, and two-way sync with Google and Outlook.
Planner
Trips and events day by day, with a checklist, a shared trip budget and who owes whom at the end.
Budget
Shared ledgers: accounts, monthly envelopes, bills, savings goals and an even split, in any currency.
People
Birthdays, Czech name days and public holidays, with a reminder the day before and a card for today.
Weather
Now, hour by hour and the week ahead for the places you care about, with alerts when it matters.
Databases
Tables, boards and galleries with typed columns, filters and saved views, for anything that has fields.
Assistant
Bring your own key. Claude, Gemini or any OpenAI-compatible model works on your notes; the key stays encrypted on your server.
How it runs
One application, installed by the person who will own it. Nothing about it lives in somebody else's cloud.
Install it on your server
A Go API, a PostgreSQL database and a web app that also installs on a phone, from one Docker Compose file. Every byte stays on that machine.
Sign in through your identity provider
Login is OpenID Connect against a provider the operator configures, so løfte never sees or stores a password.
Connect Google or Outlook, if you want
Optional and two-way. Beyond those, the app makes no third-party requests at all; an automated test in its codebase fails the build if one is ever added.
What løfte asks Google for
Connecting Google is optional; every part of løfte works without it. It exists so the calendar and tasks you already keep in Google stay the same calendar and tasks inside løfte, instead of a second copy you maintain by hand. It asks for exactly three scopes and uses each for one thing.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar
Sync your calendar, both ways. løfte reads the events in the Google calendars you choose and shows them in its own calendar, and writes the events you create or edit in løfte back to that Google calendar. Read-write, because a sync that could only read would leave anything you added in løfte invisible on your phone.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks
Sync your tasks, both ways. løfte reads your Google Tasks lists and shows them among its own tasks, and writes back the ones you add, edit or complete in løfte, including ticking a task off, which is a write.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email
Show which account is connected. The address of the account you linked, displayed on the Settings page so you can tell which Google account is in use and disconnect the right one. It is not used to contact you and is not sent anywhere.
løfte does not ask for Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Photos or location. It can connect to Microsoft Outlook calendars in the same way, and that is equally optional.
løfte's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. What is stored, for how long, and how to have it deleted is set out in the privacy policy. On Google's consent screen the application is listed as Loefte, the same name written without the ø.
On every screen you use
The same records, wherever you open them.
In the browser
Installs as an app on a phone or a desktop, keeps working without a connection, and syncs what you changed when it returns.
On Android
A native app with home-screen widgets for today, the weather and the next birthdays, notifications, and a share sheet that sends a link or a piece of text straight into løfte. Each instance serves its own build.
With the people in it
A note, a plan or a ledger can be shared with another person on the same server, to read or to edit, and nobody outside it.
Who runs it
People who would rather run their own server than keep their notes, their calendar and their money in somebody else's. Each instance is installed and administered by its owner, who decides who may sign in. This one is operated privately.
